International millionaires can buy Irish residency for €400,000 under a Department of Justice scheme.
More than 1,400 people have bought residency for themselves and their immediate families since it was set up in 2012.
Amounts ranging from €400,000 to €2 million have to be invested by the applicants, the majority of which are Chinese.
