Developing modular homes to house refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine should be considered.

That's according to the Children's Rights Alliance, as figures show just over 33,000 PPSN numbers have been given to people from Ukraine.

Chief Executive of the Alliance Tanya Ward says the State should learn from previous mistakes when accommodating those fleeing conflict:

"So I think the key is looking at the development of modular housing now. And if we have to resort to congregate settings, making sure that they comply with some basic rules. We've had, you know, over 20 years of Direct Provision in Ireland. We know what we've gotten wrong. We know what we have gotten right. And I think we just need to replicate that when it comes to providing accommodation now".
