An Independent TD's accusing the government of piling unnecessary costs on people with its proposed carbon budget.
The new measures are expected to be announced next month as it seeks to address climate change.
It's expected the cost of petrol and diesel will increase significantly.
Wexford Duputy Verona Murphy says the additional costs on top of recent increases will be too much for struggling businesses and families.
"You add labour increase into that, you have a shortage of labour - obviously labour is going to go up.
"Now we're being told that we're going to possibly face a 15% corporate tax rate.
"With all of those measures together - it's too fast, it's too ambitious, and it's going to become more expensive."
