Cork County Council have announced that they are set to receive €108,000 in funding as part of a new anti-dumping project.

The Waste Enforcement Regional Lead Authority Anti-Dumping Initiative 2022 will support 18 plans to tackle illegal dumping across the county.

Among the projects being supported is the Bantry Bay Shoreline Cleanup, which is a community led initiative where volunteers come together once a year to organise a litter pick along the coastline.
Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Danny Collins said:

“Cork County Council works best in collaboration with the community and groups such as the Bantry Bay Shoreline Cleanup provide an invaluable contribution in their local area. I welcome the recent announcement of 18 anti-dumping projects in County Cork, which will give the Council and local groups the necessary support to work together to improve their town or village.”
