A Cork auctioneer says he is not surprised by new figures which show that 10% of houses sold in Cork are going to buyers from outside the county.
Jeremy Murphy of Jeremy Murphy & Associates says there is strong demand for good quality houses across Cork with the average time taken to sell a house in Cork standing between 4 to 8 weeks.
The price of the average second-hand three-bed semi in Cork City has increased by 1.4% to €350,000 in the last three months, according to the latest national survey by Real Estate Alliance while in the county the average price of a similar property is €212,500.
40% of purchasers this quarter were first-time buyers, with 10% of buyers coming from outside of the county.
Speaking to RedFM News Jeremy Murphy says while buyers are still out there with strong purchasing power, the intense bidding seen during the Covid pandemic has eased.
