Civil rights activist and republican Rita O'Hare has died.
The Belfast native - who passed away at her home in Dublin last night - was known for her work within Sinn Féin and her role in the peace process.
Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has described her has a "powerhouse" within the "Irish republican struggle", saying "Ireland has lost a genuine patriot."
Ms. O'Hare is survived by her husband Brendan and children.
