A charity representing older people have said a 10 euro increase to the weekly old age pension, is not 'sufficient'.
Alone says older people need at least 20 euro extra a week, due to the cost-of-living crisis.
The charity says they're already making huge sacrifices.
The group's chief executive, Sean Moynihan, says the pension is below the poverty line.
"There are three poverty indexes kept by the government. And all three showed that the only age group that is rising rapidly is older people. And so the reality of it is, is that we're talking about 100,000 people who probably the pension is their only income that is well below the poverty line. And this is about food and heating is a public health issue. Those costs are rising far above of the rate of inflation."
