As part of Eating Disorder Awareness Week - the "Mind Everybody" group says the government needs to remove barriers to accessing proper treatment for these disorders.

It's organising protests to take place in Cork, Limerick and Dublin this Saturday.

19 year-old Luna is living in Cork city and in recovery from an eating disorder - she says there needs to be improvement in a lot of areas

"Early intervention because a lot of times if eating disorders aren't caught early, the person with the eating disorder becomes very invested and might not want to get help. So push for things like more education for families and young people, more specialised eating disorder beds, more special eating disorder counselling, those would be the main things"
