A bus driver has died in a crash in Westmeath.
20 passengers were onboard when the bus collided with a ditch at about 5.30 yesterday evening.
The driver of the bus - a 55 year old man - was seriously injured when the bus crashed into a ditch in the townland of Killogeenaghan near Moate.
He was taken to Tullamore Regional Hospital, and later passed away.
Gardaí say there were about 20 passengers on the bus at the time, and some were hospitalised with non life threatening injuries.
No other vehicle was involved in the incident.
The road is closed for a technical examination of the scene, which will be conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators this morning.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or any road users with dashcam footage to come forward.
