It's expected applications for funding will open today for homes and businesses in the South East who were impacted by flooding yesterday.
New Ross in County Wexford was one of the areas worst effected, with roads and footpaths torn up and homes and businesses destroyed by water.
The Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien is visiting the town this afternoon to meet with those impacted.
The Minister for Social Protection says her Department will support households affected by the recent floods.
Heather Humphreys says the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme has been activated and will provide funds towards the replacement of essential personal belongings or household goods and appliances.
