Almost 48,000 Ukrainian Refugees In Ireland By 7th August

Almost 48,000 Ukrainian refugees had arrived in Ireland by the 7th of August.

That's an increase of just under 3,300 in three weeks.

Latest CSO figures show 47,962 Personal Public Service numbers have been issued to individuals from Ukraine as of the week ending the 7th of August.

That's an increase of almost 3,300 in three weeks.

Women aged over 20 account for almost half , or 47 per cent of arrivals , while those aged 19 or under account for 36 per cent.

For two thirds of those who attended employment events, English proficiency was noted as a challenge to securing employment.

Dublin's North Inner city had the highest number of Ukrainian arrivals.

The figures also show almost 6,900 children have enrolled in primary and secondary school, Dublin had the highest number and Monaghan the lowest.

Meanwhile, 1,095 arrivals are living in 579 private accommodations where the hose is in receipt of the Accommodation Recognition Payment.
