A 43-year-old man appeared at Limerick District Court last evening charged in connection with a drugs seizure in County Clare on Friday.
The seizure was made as part of Operation Coronation, during which a total of 1.42 million euro were seized Clare and Limerick over two days.
Vincent Collopy, with an address at St Ita's Street, St Marys Park, Limerick was arrested on Friday afternoon after Gardaí stopped and searched a vehicle on the Corbally Road in Co. Clare, where they seized €10,000 worth of cocaine.
Mr Collopy faces one charge for simple possession of drugs, one charge of possession of drugs for sale and supply and one charge of obstructing Gardaí
A special sitting of limerick district court heard he made no reply to the charges.
There was no application for bail was made for Mr Collopy and he was remanded in custody.
He is due back in court via videolink on Tuesday next.
During Searches under Operation Coronation, in conjunction with Operation Tara, in Clare and Limerick on Friday and Saturday €1.42 million worth of drugs were seized.
5 men were arrested. Two were released, while two other men continue to be detained at Henry Street Garda station in connection with the investigation.
