Two of Cork's water catchments have been selected under a 20 million euro scheme to protect Ireland's most pristine rivers.
The Shournagh river near Tower and Blarney and The Awbeg river near Kanturk are among six catchments nationally to be included in the Waters of LIFE programme.
The strategic projects will be managed until by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
