The 175th anniversary of the birth of Michael Cusack will be celebrated in Co Clare today.
Larry McCarthy, President of the GAA, will unveil a plaque and plant an ash tree in Michael Cusack’s honour.
A local historian will give a speech on the impact of Michael Cusack - where he was born, the landscape, and how that impacted on him.
Tim Madden, manager of the Michael Cusack Centre, says they're expecting large numbers to attend:
"We're expecting, across the day, about 2- to 300 people today. And into tomorrow, Sunday, we're expecting probably double that amount - about 500 people to join us. Michael Cusack's 175th birthday anniversary will formerly be more celebrated on Tuesday".
