122 patients are without a hospital bed in Cork this lunchtime.
84 patients are being treated on trolleys at Cork University Hospital, 33 are at the Mercy University Hospital and 5 at Bantry General.
The INMO has already raised the seriousness of the matter in Cork - the unions says the two city hospitals are "dangerously" overcrowded and the situation is adding to the pressure on their members and the quality of care being received by patients at the two facilities.
The HSE is being urged to step in and draw up a plan which would alleviate the overcrowding and provide more community beds which would help for a more efficient discharge service.
Nationally there are nearly 600 people on trolleys this lunchtime.
