12 people have been arrested as part of a Garda operation targeting people 'on the run' from other countries.
It was carried out by the Extradition Unit at the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, between Tuesday and Thursday this week.
The focus is on those who pose a risk to local communities.
The arrests were made for offences including assisting an offender to commit murder, drug trafficking, robbery and offences relating to organised crime.
All 12 people appeared at the High Court in Dublin and will re-appear at a later date.
