Brown Thomas has distanced itself from a neighbouring car park, after its owners refused to support the pedestrianisation of South William Street.
The Brown Thomas Car Park is now known as the Grafton Car Park, after the two parties fell out over the issue.
The Irish Times says a spokesperson for the upmarket retailer says it's fully supportive of making the street traffic-free.
Councillors unanimously agreed to include the pedestrianisation of the area as an objective in the new city development plan.
