One in seven hotels in Ireland are now being used to accommodate refugees and asylum-seekers.

The Department of Justice have confirmed 118 hotels are now being used for this purpose, while there are 830 hotels across the country.

The Irish Hotels Federation says the current arrangement must be only a short-term solution.

Minister for Integration, Roderic O'Gorman, says he is conscious hotels cannot be a long-term solution to accommodating refugees and asylum-seekers.
