1 in 5 people in Ireland are suffering from mental health issues.

That's according to the CEO of Mental Health Ireland, Martin Rogan.

Depression and anxiety disorders also increased by 25 per cent during the pandemic.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, Martin Rogan says it is important to take care of our mental health like we would our physical health:

"It's important  that we work on our mental health and we make time for that and there are things we know that are really helpful strategies. There's your five ways to wellbeing, it's about connecting with people and staying active and continuing to learn and take notice of the things around you, and also to be involved with the community and contribute in some way."
