Indiependence Founder: Government Have Provided No Support For The Live Entertainment Industry

Over 15,000 people were due to attend the festival in Mitchelstown this bank holiday weekend, however organisers were forced to cancel the three day event due to the pandemic.

The live entertainment sector employs over 35,000 people and generates €3.5 billion a year for the Irish economy, however it's now feared many people employed in the industry will be forced to find jobs elsewhere.

Speaking to RedFM News, festival organiser Shane Dunne says events like Indie provide a huge boost to local economies and they have been receiving very little support from the Government:
