More than 35,000 requests were lodged for just 300 audience tickets for the Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas special, the show's creator Brendan O’Carroll revealed.
He said the BBC had the passes online for just 15 minutes as the comedy returns with a full audience for the first time since Covid hit in 2020.
This year’s festive episode will see Buster try to pass off a ‘magic Christmas tree’ which he claims is visible only to a chosen few.
Buster's claims are dismissed as the tree vanishes and reappears and the mystery is only solved in the second special on New Year’s Day.
