More rain is expected this weekend which will lead to localised flooding.
It's due to a weather advisory for the whole country which will last until next Friday.
The localised flooding will happen due to waterlogged soils and high river levels.
Cathal Nolan from Ireland's Weather Channel has the outlook for later today:
"Certainly there was heavy falls of rain overnight, and probably has led to an exacerbation of flooding conditions in some parts of the country. Now, as we go through the remainder of the afternoon and evening, there is a likelihood that some heavy thundery showers developing at times, especially so across the western half of the country, but they will filter across parts of the midlands and east at times as well. And where these two occur, there will be renewed risk of localised flooding in some parts".
