Maths week starts today and runs until the 23rd of October.
Parents are being encouraged to bring children to various events and engage with maths through fun and challenges.
Maths puzzles and games will be distributed to homeless shelters, nursing homes and direct provision centres throughout the country.
Shelia Donegan from Maths Week Ireland says it's about having some fun with numbers:
"So today in College Green, Dublin and Bank of Ireland Plaza, we'll be doing maths in the city, where we bring in maths games, maths puzzles, maths activities - all designed for everyone to have a goal and to have some fun with maths".
