The owners of the Marina Market in Cork City have lodged an appeal against the decision to refuse planning.

CPR Properties say that issues can be resolved, and The Irish Examiner report that they have indicated a willingness to help to design or part fund some of the solutions.

Over 300 people are employed at the former Southern Fruits distribution centre, and the Market has been in operation since September of 2020.

Last month Cork City Council refused permission for retention of the change of use from a warehouse to a market, citing safety issues on Kennedy Quay and concerns about the site's proximity to the Gouldings Chemicals Facility on Centre Park Road
