Gardai responded to a medical emergency in Charleville this morning
Ambulance personnel also responded to the scene and an air ambulance was scrambled
The air ambulance landed near the town's playground and paramedics rushed to the elderly man's aid and provided medical treatment
The man in his 80's was later pronounced dead at the scene and the coroner has been notified
