A 90-year-old man has passed away after he was hit by a van in Monaghan on Wednesday.
It happened on the N2 at around 6.55pm at Drumgeeney.
The man was a pedestrian on the road and was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment, and was then transferred to Drogheda Hospital.
He has since passed away.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is asked to contact gardaí.
