The anti-social behaviour and subsequent arrests in Rochestown on Halloween night has been described as unacceptable by local residents

Up to 300 young people gathered in Mount Oval at around 6 o'clock on Tuesday evening and residents say that some of the teenagers were drinking, setting off fire works, breaking glass and kicking residents doors.

In a statement to RedFM News, Gardaí say they arrested 4 youths and the area was cleared by around 10PM.

Speaking to RedFM News, local Labour candidate Peter Horgan says the behaviour witnessed by residents was intolerable:

"Where I was yesterday was in front of the houses where the gathering took place and speaking with one particular resident, he said that you could see that there was a door being kicked you could feel the doors had been kicked. There was a drain pipe ripped off the side of one house.
Which is just ridiculous behavior. It's absolutely intolerable behavior to happen, whether it's Halloween or whether it's any night of the year."
