Killarney National Park and Wildlife Service staff collected over 30,000 acorns this week.

Outdoor team members gathered the debris from the 336-acre-wide Derrycunnihy Woodlands and Muckross Gardens.

The Oak woodlands at the Killarney site form some of the oldest in Northern Europe.

Their efforts were made to ensure growth continues on the grounds for years to come.
