Just over one thousand 600 new social homes were delivered in the third quarter of the year.
Department of Housing figures show that consisted of more than one thousand 300 new builds, 120 acquisitions and 155 through leasing programmes.
The new build figure represents an increase of more than 40 per cent on the same quarter last year.
At the end of September, departmental figures show there were 25 thousand 848 social homes in various stages of design and construction.
