An Irishman who is being held at an ICE detention camp in Texas has compared it to a modern day concentration camp

Kilkenny man Seamus Culleton has been at Camp East Montana for nearly five months despite legally living in the United States for over 20 years

Three people have died at the centre since it opened last August and the American Civil Liberties Union has called for its closure amid reports of a pattern of abuses suffered by detainees

Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Seamus Culleton says conditions at the ICE detention centre are like "hell on earth"

"Well, the best waycan describe ii as it's like a modern day concentration camp. We have got no human rights down here - people are starving, people are sick. We get three meals a day, we get a breakfast at seven, we get a lunch at twelve, and we get a dinner at five, three kids size meals. That's all we get for the day. There's no commissary, there's no option to buy extra food, like there is in a regular prison. It's just hell down here, hell on earth"
