The number of deaths from Covid-19 across the world has passed 190,000.

More than 2.7 million cases of the disease have also been reported, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The US accounts for almost a third of the world's cases and deaths from the coronavirus.

The World Health Organisation's director-general, Tedros Ghebreyesus, says the pandemic is badly affecting people mentally.

"WHO is working actively to address the impacts of the pandemic on mental health.

"Working with mental health experts across the world, WHO has produced technical guidance for individual and health workers, recognising the enormous strain they are under."
