School pupils across Cork are to gather in the city to take part in today's climate strike

The issue of climate change hasn't gone away

That's the message from the Cork organiser of today's Fridays for Future  climate change strike

Up to 70 pupils have already registered to take part in today's event which gets underway at 1pm from locations on Patrick Street and Grand Parade

It's the first climate change demonstration since the pandemic hit in March 2020 with demonstrators saying the Government isn't doing enough to tackle climate change

One of the organisers of the Cork event Aine McLoughlin told RedFM News that the pandemic stopped the movement reaching the large audience they did in 2019 but she says the focus needs to be put back on the issue
