Privacy Campaigners Fear Plans By Apple To Search iPhones For Child Abuse Images Could Provide Back Door To Users' Personal Data

The company says it'll be looking for digital fingerprints and won't be scanning people's pictures.

But online security expert, Professor of Security Engineering at Cambridge University, Ross Anderson claims authoritarian governments could use the tech to spy on users and look for political opponents:

"People can send you photos in order to undermine your security, and in countries like China, we can expect that it won't just be pornographic images that will be put into the filter."
