Following the resignation of Boris Johnson, a new British cabinet is being appointed.

Former Prime Minister Theresa May's former business secretary, Greg Clark, has been appointed as levelling-up secretary, replacing the sacked Michael Gove.

A YouGov poll's found defence secretary Ben Wallace is the clear favourite among Tory members to be the next leader.

Scotland's first minister Nicola Sturgeon says "the sooner Boris Johnson is out of Number 10, the better":

"I think first and foremost, there will be an overwhelming and very widespread sense of relief that Boris Johnson's time as prime minister, which should probably never have been allowed to happen in the first place, is coming to an end."
