The housing crisis is having a major impact on companies trying to fill jobs.
Many potential new recruits for jobs in the capital are unable to find or afford anywhere to live.
Just 309 properties were available to rent in Dublin last night.
Eoin Ó Broin, Sinn Féin's spokesperson for Housing, says more affordable housing is needed:
"The solution is for government to do what Sinn Féin has been arguing for for many years: to dramatically increase Direct Capital Investment and deliver very large volumes of affordable homes to rent or buy. Sinn Féin is arguing that we need at least 8,000 such homes every single year. Government has only delivered a few hundred this year and hardly any at all last year".
