Homeowners are increasingly worried about damage to their homes caused by extreme weather events.

That's the findings of a survey of 1000 people in the wake of intense climatic conditions.

Nine out of ten homeowners say they are very concerned about flooding and wildfires with 32% saying they see climate change as a devastating threat.

Paul Walsh, CEO of Peopl Insurance says women are a lot more concerned than men.

"People felt there was no concern at all. 18% men said they weren't at all concerned about the impact of extreme weather on their homes and communities. However, that dropped to as little as 5% for women, so extreme differences when it comes to the level of apathy, more men than women, not concerned at all."
