Temperatures could reach as high as 30 degrees in some parts of the country today.

A high of 24 degrees has already been recorded in Cork while 26 degrees was recorded in Dublin's Phoenix Park

A status yellow high temperature warning is now in effect for 14 counties.

Meteorologist with Met Éireann, Linda Hughes, says it's shaping up to be a great Friday

"It's a glorious day out there,  wall to wall sunshine, right across the country and we're going to see more of that again tomorrow. It's very warm,  temperatures forecasts get up to 28 or 29 degrees, particularly in inland counties"
