The decision to enforce Garda presence onboard the City's 'trouble routes' comes after a number of violent incidents and a sharp increase in anti-social behaviour onboard certain services.
The NBRU says it expects to see results from the Garda presence, but that ideally a specific Garda transport division would be established to help ensure complete safety on public transport.
Speaking to RedFM News, NBRU General Secretary Dermot O'Leary says the decision is very much welcomed:
