The man arrested on suspicion of the murder of Tina Satchwell is due to be charged or released later today.

The man in his 50s was arrested yesterday morning for questioning following the discovery of human remains at a house in Youghal on Wednesday evening.

The remains were taken to Cork University Hospital and it’s expected a DNA sample will confirm whether or not they are from the missing Fermoy woman who was last seen in public on the 19th of March 2017.

Speaking to RedFM News at a press conference in Midleton yesterday evening, Superintendent Adrian Gamble renewed his appeal for the public to contact them with any information relevant to the case:

The family of Tina satchel continue to be updated on the progress of this investigation. A family liaison officer has been appointed. And at this time my thoughts and the thoughts of the investigation team are firmly and continue to be with them at this difficult time. I appeal to any person who may have any information on the murder of Tina Satchwell, no matter how insignificant that you think that may be, to contact the investigation team here at Middleton on (021) 462 1550, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station. Thank you for your time."
