The Cork Under 16 Camogie team have been named the July winners of the Rebel Og Award.

The Rebels retained their All Ireland title as they defeated Galway in Nowlan Park.

THe Rebels picked up theiwr award yesterday at the Clayton Hotel Silversprings, and are sponsored by Cork's RedFM and media partners the Echo.

Speaking to RedFM Sport at the awards, Cork boss John Moloney paid tribute to team spirit of his players.

"The first thing you have to do is get them to get on with each other, to get them to be like a club, that they'd do and die for each other.

"We get their skill level up, get them to work for each other, and get them to know each other, do it for each other, and really bond and gel.

"Like in the All Ireland final, when you have to go to the well, you come back to that kind of thing, you come back to will they die for each other. If that's not there, you have to have the heart, it's not just for themselves but it's for everybody else who is around them."
