Four men have appeared in court in connection with a €31m cocaine seizure in West Cork

Four men have appeared in court in connection with a thirty one million euro cocaine seizure in West Cork on Tuesday.

The men were remanded in custody at Bandon District Court today.

40-year-old Mark Doherty of Waterfoot Avenue, Glasgow, Scotland, 31-year-old Levent Gulay of Neu Ulm, Germany, 44-year-old Christoper Hibbett of Tressillian, Truro, Cornwall, England and 39-year-old Ben Sandford of Drum Road, Moray in Scotland appeared in court.

They are all charged with possession of cocaine, and possession of cocaine for sale or supply at Meelmane, Courtmacsherry, county Cork on the 1st of July last.

Three of the men made no reply after being charged, while Christoper Hibbett replied, ‘I’m f****** sorry, that’s it.’

None of the men applied for bail and were remanded in custody by Judge Joanne Carroll to appear at Macroom District Court next Wednesday.
