A number of Cork road projects have been given a boost with the news that one hundred and forty five million has been allocated to the city and county
The funding will be used for works on the Cork to Ringaskiddy road, the Innishannon bypass and safety works in Carrigaline
Other key projects such as the ‘Great Island Connectivity Scheme (Cobh)’, the Midleton – Youghal Bypasses, and the Mallow Relief Road will all benefit from the funding
In West Cork, the treacherously bad condition of the road in Ballylickey will be tackled with a €3Million investment to repair the road surface, while in Innishannon and Bandon €100,000 and €650,000 respectively are allocated for works to advance the bypasses.
In the City Council, €1.27 Million has been allocated for resurfacing the N27, from Penrose Quay to Ballintemple, while on the N22 Carrigrohane Road, €2.5 Million is set aside for resurfacing from Grassland Agro to Leemount Terrace. “These will provide badly needed investments in our City Road network
