Visitor Restrictions Remain In Place At CUH And CUMH This Morning

It follows the confirmation that a man at the hospital has been diagnosed with coronavirus.

Health officials confirmed 7 new cases last night after CUH implemented infection control measures.

It's unclear how the man in his 40s, who has been placed in isolation, contracted the virus.

Dialysis, Chemotherapy, radiation and infusion treatments will go ahead today, however all other outpatient appointments at both CUH and CUMH have been cancelled.

The hospital says all cancelled appointments will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan says efforts to figure out how the man contracted the virus are ongoing:
