Visiting is restricted to patients who are critically ill or who have specific care needs and only one visitor per patient is allowable at one time
Children are not allowed to visit, except in exceptional cases and visitors are only allowed in during the approved visiting times
The Mercy says they will review these arrangements on a daily basis and regular updates will be provided.
Meanwhile University College Cork say that CUH is now closed to medical students.
The HSE have postponed all teaching at the hospital as part of their infection control measures- UCC say they are monitoring the situation and will continue to take the advice of health authorities.
