The Taoiseach has ruled out extending the midterm break for schools in a bid to tackle the rising numbers of new Covid cases.
Micheál Martin also said NPHET has given no recommendation to Government asking children to limit their activities.
Deputy CMO Dr Ronan Glynn made the ask yesterday amid an increase in virus transmission among kids.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin says the Government hasn't considered keeping the schools shut longer to limit the further spread of Covid:
"No, there's no consideration given to that, the NPHET and choose, raise the issue of the fact that the incidence level among five to five years, is much higher now than previously, so they drew our attention to that but not specific advice in relation to that."
