Organisers of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival say the city is enjoying a busy but safe weekend as the Jazz Festival continues.

Many venues were sold out in advance of the Festival getting underway and the free jazz around the city has encouraged people to travel in and soak up the atmosphere.

More than 60 venues across Cork city, Kinsale and Douglas will be hosting a variety of jazz acts from across Ireland and beyond.

Speaking to RedFM News Fiona Collins of the Cork Jazz Festival Committee outlines how the festival had to adapt around Covid guidelines:

It looks to be fair there were changes across the board. Obviously we're working within government guidelines, they're there, they're in place to keep everybody safe. So it's going to look slightly different, everyone has to have their COVID Pass ready for when they go indoors, but some of the on street stuff is going to you know, you're going to be the same as normal, you will have your bonds popping up the interview stage and I'm a place, so it is it is about just getting out and I'm feeling some of that brightness with weekends and positivity.
