It has been confirmed to RedFM News that army personnel are setting up a tent style structure outside the Mercy University Hospital.

In a statement issued to the newsroom this morning the hospital says it's engaging with the Defence Forces for logistical support as part of its Covid-19 preparedness plan.

Management say this is in line with HSE protocols and allows the hospital to maximise site capability.

The support includes the use of marquees in close proximity to the hospital that will provide the necessary physical distancing space for staff and Emergency Department patient flow.
