The union say emergency departments are already overcrowded

The union say acute hospitals like CUH are prepared to treat patients with the virus, however they have raised concerns about a potential influx of people presenting at the hospital.

The HSE say the risk of contracting the virus in Ireland is low and are advising anyone who develops symptoms such as a fever, shortness of breath or trouble breathing to contact their GP before seeking medical attention in person.
