Management at Cork University Hospital are appealing to the public to contact their GP/South Doc in the first instance and explore all other options available to them prior to attending the Emergency Department if their needs are not urgent.
The ED has been exceptionally busy over the past number of weeks with a large number of very ill patients
requiring admission.
In a statement to RedFM NEWS management say patient care is paramount in CUH and the situation is being treated as a priority with steps being taken to address this issue.
