A Cork primary school has been temporarily closed due to a significant outbreak of Covid-19.

The Echo reports 17 cases have been identified at Gaelscoil Uí Drisceoil, Glanmire

In a letter to parents and guardians, the school says close contacts have been identified and that a decision has been made to test all students and staff at the school.

The school is due to reopen again on the 8th of December.

NPHET announced another 226 cases of the virus in Ireland yesterday, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 70,930.

The number of cases has been increasing in Cork in recent weeks, however just 6 people were confirmed to have contracted the virus in the city and county yesterday.
